Argyle Legends vs Exeter Legends 2010

For the first time in the three year history of the competition, Argyle Legends triumphed over their Exeter City counterparts in the annual golf match to win the Tom Finnie Memorial Trophy.

Held at the Carlyon Bay Golf Club in Cornwall, a nine hole Stableford competition was held in the morning, won by Exeter's Keith Ford. The match itself began in earnest after lunch.

The morning round had been played in reasonable weather but afternoon conditions were far less favourable with a strong wind and heavy rain making playing conditions difficult. Nevertheless, some impressive golf was played but as the players squelched their way back to the clubhouse it soon became evident that the Argyle side had been the stronger on the day, winning by a score of 8-4.
