Argyle Legends vs Moreton Vale Wanderers 2010

Moreton Vale Wanderers v Argyle Legends.

Sunday 19th September 2010.

Argyle Legends strolled to a convincing 10–4 victory over their Worcestershire visitors in a recent fixture played at the home of Dartmouth United FC.  The Legends team containing 4 guest players were soon into their stride and went ahead after only 7 minutes when a Marcus Crocker shot took a cruel deflection over the visiting goalkeeper.  In a one sided first half Marcus Crocker made it 2-0 in the 17th minute with a close range effort following a cross from Martin Barlow.  Further goals followed from Kevin Nancekivill (2), Martin Barlow and Jason Jones as the Legends romped to a 6-0 half time lead.

The early stages of the second half were fairly even and the visitors reduced the arrears in the 58th minute following a mix up in the Legends defence.  Stung by this goal the Legends responded immediately with 2 goals in a minute, with  Martin Barlow and Kevin Nancekivill both scoring their second goals of the game.  To their credit the visitors never gave up trying and made it 8-2 following another defensive lapse.  With the game effectively over Martin Barlow completed his hat trick from the penalty spot before Ryan Cross made it double figures for the Legends with a close range finish.

Two goals in the last five minutes from the visitors saw the game finish 10–4 in favour of the Legends.
