Argyle Legends vs Peninsula South West Select XI 2013

Sunday 19th May

football3

Argyle Legends were comprehensively beaten 6 - 0 by a younger, fitter and stronger side in their latest fixture at Haye Road, the home of Elburton Villa.

The Select XI made up of current Plymouth Parkway, Bodmin and Elburton Villa players were simply to quick for the Legends, who were not given any time to play their normal passing game.

Despite including three academy players from Plymouth Argyle and playing Truro City goalkeeper Paul Hider the game was effectively over after 35 minutes with the Legends trailing 5 - 0.

The second period saw the Legends playing for pride and they did really well to restrict their opponents to only one goal.

The Legends motto is to play anyone anywhere for a worthy charity. In this instance the HUGS FOR HENRY CHARITY were the beneficiaries.

As a result of this motto the Legends will inevitably be on the wrong end of the occasional drubbing.
